Diocesan Director of Ordinands and Vocations

The Diocese of Carlisle is looking for a gifted ordained colleague with the experience and strategic skills to play a pivotal role in enabling the vocations of all God’s people alongside releasing the considerable potential for lay and ordained ministry across the Diocese.
For those called to ordained ministry in the Church of England, you will skilfully oversee and guide individuals through the national discernment process, ensuring they are supported spiritually, pastorally and practically, assisted in this work by our experienced team of Assistant DDO’s.
You will be experienced in leading a team of key colleagues, which include the IME 2 Officer, Vocations Lead and Warden of Readers, as well as our Vocations and Assistant DDO teams, modelling collaboration, support and challenge in the discernment and formation work they undertake.
Underpinned by the values of our God for All strategy, we are seeking an emotionally intelligent and pastorally adept leader who is also able to relate generously and positively to those of theological traditions other than their own.
This is a full-time position of 35 hours a week.
Salary £48,988 plus 15% non-contributory pension or an ordained candidate could choose to remain in the Church of England Clergy Pension Scheme.
This post is subject to an occupational requirement that the postholder be a practising Christian under Part 1 of Schedule 9 of the Equality Act 2010.

· Do you have the drive and experience to support and equip lay and ordained leaders with the knowledge, skills and confidence to faithfully improvise and develop new worshipping communities for children and families?
The Diocese of Carlisle is looking for a Growing Younger Enabler for Children and Families who is creative and innovative, respectfully engaging people and places in ways which honour and encourage established culture and church life. In addition, an enthusiasm and commitment to collaborative working will be essential with the ability to effectively build relationships and work in partnership with others.
As part of the Mission and Ministry, Support and Innovation team you will have a pivotal role in delivering key elements of the Growing Younger Project funded by a five-year Diocesan Investment Programme award and the Growing Younger Strategy.
Working across rural and urban Cumbria this is an exciting opportunity for a missional and experienced children and families leader with a passion to serve and support local churches, primary schools and communities, embedding both faithful improvisation and mixed ecology in a Diocese with a commitment to the spiritual flourishing of children and families, as together we nurture and support their journey of faith.
This is a full-time position of 35 hours a week.
Salary £40,462 FTE plus 15% non-contributory pension.
