Parochial Fees
The current legislation in relation to parochial fees was set down in The Ecclesiastical Fees (Amendment) Measure 2011 and came into effect in January 2013. The fees payable for weddings, funerals and burials are set annually by the Church of England (available on their website), and there are two parts to that fee – one part which is due to the local church (the ‘PCC’) and one part which is due to the Diocesan Board of Finance (the ‘DBF’) to help fund local ministry. These amounts will be communicated to all PCCs in the Diocese by the start of each new year.
