East Whitehaven Mission Community Launches
As the God for All Strategy continues to roll out across the county, so the new East Whitehaven Mission Community has been officially launched at a special service last Sunday (25 September).
Dozens of people came together to mark the launch of the mission community which is made up of the parishes of Mirehouse, Moresby and Hensingham.
The service at St Andrew's Mirehouse included a dedication of Bibles as well as the gifting of a Lectern Bible, with Bishop Robert leading prayers for the Mission Community Leadership Team.
Bishop Robert said: "It was an amazing and strong celebration of churches coming together to commit themselves to discover more of God in their own life but also to help people in their community discover the reality of God and God's purpose for them.
"The churches recognise that within their own communities there are many different people, who will need God in their life, but who will probably need different ways to connect and communicate with, either by word or by action."
The Ven Richard Pratt, Archdeacon of West Cumberland, added: "It was a really good-hearted celebration and a great moment with a church full of excited people."
Please pray for all those newly launched Mission Communities and for those preparing to launch in the coming weeks and months. For more visit the God for All website.
